On 10 December 2025, the BATMASS project was presented at the international event “Andalusia at the heart of the European Critical Raw Materials Strategy”, organised in Seville within the framework of the European IRMHUB project. The event brought together policymakers, industry representatives and European initiatives to analyse the strategic role of Andalusia in critical raw materials and related value chains.
During the session dedicated to smart specialisation and the strengthening of European mining and battery value chains, Marta Macías, Innovation Consultant at CTA, introduced BATMASS, highlighting its contribution to circular processes for battery materials and its alignment with the S3P Advanced Materials for Batteries platform. The presentation showcased how BATMASS supports interregional collaboration, advanced recycling technologies and sustainable battery value chains in Europe.
The event, organised by CTA together with the Andalusian Regional Government and ICAMCYL under the IRMHUB project, also addressed funding opportunities and synergies between regions, reinforcing BATMASS’s role within the broader European ecosystem for critical raw materials and battery circularity.
