Our project BATMASS was presented at the Mining and Minerals Hall (MMH), held in Seville on 20 October.

During the event, Marta González, from Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía (CTA), presented the main objectives and activities of BATMASS at the Andalusian Regional Government stand, together with the S3 Advanced Materials for Batteries Partnership (S3 AMBP).

Her intervention highlighted the complementary contribution of both initiatives to strengthening a more sustainable, circular and resilient European battery value chain, as well as the role of interregional cooperation in connecting innovation, investment and industrial capabilities.

The presentation also showcased BATMASS’ work on circular solutions across the battery lifecycle, including advanced reverse logistics, second-life applications, recovery of valuable materials from black mass and the reintegration of recycled materials into new battery production.

A second part of the session was led by David Sanjuan, from the Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster (ISMC), who presented in detail the Circular Battery Valley (CBV) and BATMASS’ contribution to its development. His intervention focused on the role of the CBV as an interregional ecosystem connecting technological capabilities, industrial actors and innovation stakeholders around battery circularity.

The session illustrated how BATMASS, the Circular Battery Valley and S3 AMBP can work in a complementary way to strengthen regional innovation ecosystems, promote the uptake of circular solutions and support a more resilient European battery value chain.
