On 11 March 2026, our project was presented at the international conference “Fostering the European Mining Regions Innovation Ecosystem”, organised by project partner ISMC in Seville. The event brought together representatives from regional authorities, industry, research organisations and European initiatives working to strengthen cooperation across Europe’s mining and raw materials ecosystems.
During the event, Marta Macías from CTA (Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía), partner of the BATMASS project, introduced the project’s objectives and its role in advancing circular solutions for the European battery value chain. The presentation highlighted BATMASS’ work in battery recycling, materials recovery and circular business models aimed at strengthening Europe’s resilience in the battery sector.
Supporting Cooperation in the Context of the Critical Raw Materials Act
The conference highlighted key policy developments shaping Europe’s raw materials landscape, particularly the Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA), and emphasised the importance of strengthening collaboration between regions, industry and research actors to secure a sustainable and resilient mineral supply for Europe.
In this context, BATMASS contributes to reinforcing interregional cooperation and accelerating the transition towards circular battery value chains aligned with European strategic priorities.
Promoting the Upcoming CBV Investment Forum
The session also served as an opportunity to present the upcoming Circular Battery Valley (CBV) Investment Forum, taking place on 17 March 2026. The forum will bring together investors, industry stakeholders and innovation actors to explore opportunities to scale circular battery solutions and strengthen Europe’s battery ecosystem.
Through its participation in events such as this conference, BATMASS continues to foster dialogue, collaboration and knowledge exchange across Europe’s raw materials and battery innovation communities.
