On June 5th and 6th, 2025, the BATMASS consortium held a face-to-face meeting in France, hosted by Orano and Green-Vision. The two-day event provided an opportunity for partners to assess the project’s progress, align on next steps, and reinforce collaboration across the Circular Battery Valley initiative.

A productive exchange in Châtillon and Étampes

The first day of the meeting took place at Orano’s headquarters in Châtillon, where participants shared comprehensive updates on the status of the pilot lines, key technical achievements, and progress across the consortium’s activities. The agenda allowed for an in-depth review of the work carried out in recent months, helping to identify both achievements and remaining challenges. Discussions focused on how to advance the industrial uptake of project results, reduce implementation gaps, and align efforts with the overarching goal of establishing a resilient and circular battery value chain in Europe.

The face-to-face setting also proved instrumental in reinforcing collaboration among partners, encouraging open dialogue and joint problem-solving. This productive exchange helped to reaffirm the consortium’s shared commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for the battery ecosystem.

On the second day, the consortium visited Green-Vision’s facilities in Étampes. The tour included a presentation of their workshop and test benches for energy storage systems, offering a practical look into one of the project’s key second-life battery pilots.

Looking ahead

This live meeting marked an important step forward for the BATMASS project, fostering knowledge exchange and mutual alignment among partners. With the technical work advancing and collaboration deepening, the consortium remains firmly committed to building Europe’s first Circular Battery Valley.
