The BATMASS consortium gathered in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 12 and 13 May for its seventh live meeting, bringing together project partners to review technical progress, coordinate upcoming activities and strengthen collaboration across the European battery recycling value chain.
A productive exchange in Ljubljana
Hosted by project partner NIC, the two-day meeting combined technical sessions, strategic discussions and a site visit to the partner’s facilities in Kisovec, where consortium members explored ongoing developments linked to carbon-free technologies and industrial innovation.
During the first day, partners shared updates on the progress of BATMASS industrial pilots, including battery collection and dismantling, second-life applications, black-mass treatment and CAM-to-production processes. Discussions focused on the status of pilot development, routes towards industrial implementation and the planning of activities for the project’s final year.
The second day addressed cross-cutting activities related to the establishment of the Interregional EU Circular Battery Valley, market framework conditions, investment replication strategies, dissemination and communication actions, as well as overall project management and coordination.
The meeting once again highlighted the strong collaboration among BATMASS partners and their shared commitment to accelerating Europe’s transition towards a more sustainable, resilient and circular battery ecosystem.
