From April 10 to 12, 2024, the Alkeemia Battery Forum took place in Venice, where the University of Pavia had the opportunity to present the BATMASS project. Our partner Eliana gave the conference: “Battery recycling from basic research to exploitation: a European perspective”.
Alkeemia Battery Forum: “The future of batteries in Europe passes through the supply chain”
Alkeemia Battery Forum is an open event organized by Alkeemia and reserved for companies and professionals working within the battery and storage ecosystem, with the aim of supporting the growth of the European market by creating effective connections along the value chain and sharing updates on relevant ongoing projects.
Speakers provided a high-level technical perspective to determine what the short-term local needs are for a successful supply chain and what can be done to support long-term innovation.
At the Alkeemia Battery Forum 2024, delegates from universities and industries in the sector discussed the future of sustainable storage systems, including, for example, Ferrari, Ducati, Syensqo, Arkema, CATL, SVOLT, FAAM.
“The EU calls for a 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions related to the transport sector between now and 2050. The decarbonization of this sector – explained Lorenzo Di Donato, general director of Alkeemia – is, therefore, essential To achieve the set climate objectives and the development of electric mobility requires the commitment of institutions, private sector operators and universities. Today the market share of electric cars is around 16% on average in Europe. so the growth potential is enormous and for this reason we will bring together all the main stakeholders of our Forum: we need to systematize capabilities and create a supply chain capable of competing with other markets.
