Our project participated in the EIT RawMaterials Summit 2026, held from 19 to 21 May in Brussels, one of Europe’s leading events for stakeholders across the raw materials value chain. The summit brought together policymakers, industry leaders, investors, researchers and innovators to discuss the future of sustainable raw materials and strategic value chains in Europe.
BATMASS was represented in the event’s Innovation Village, a dedicated exhibition area where European projects, start-ups and emerging technologies showcased innovative solutions and collaborative initiatives. The project shared an exhibition booth with three other I3-funded projects — CLOSER, EVEN CLOSER and SICAPERMA — highlighting the growing role of interregional cooperation in advancing circular and sustainable industrial ecosystems.
During the three-day event, BATMASS presented its latest developments and results in battery recycling and circular value chains, engaging with a wide range of European and international stakeholders. The summit provided an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge, identify potential synergies and gather new ideas to further advance the project’s pilot activities. Several valuable contacts were also established with organisations and companies working on critical raw materials recovery, recycling technologies and innovative circular economy solutions.
Participation in the EIT RawMaterials Summit reinforced BATMASS’s commitment to accelerating the transition towards a more resilient and circular European battery ecosystem while strengthening connections with key actors shaping the future of raw materials and sustainable industrial value chains in Europe.
