Representatives of the BATMASS project took part in an energy transition event tittled “Transition to clean energy to maintain business competitiveness in times of energy uncertainty” organised by Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía (CTA) at the Casa de la Ciencia del CSIC on 9 April 2026, reinforcing the project’s presence in key regional forums on clean energy and industrial competitiveness.
The session featured Joan Batalla, president of Sedigas and director general of Funseam, who shared insights on the role of renewable gases such as hydrogen and biomethane in strengthening Europe’s energy resilience and supporting industrial decarbonisation. During the event, he highlighted Andalusia’s strategic potential to become a renewable energy hub in the current geopolitical context.
The event brought together representatives from innovative companies and research organisations. Discussions addressed how rising energy prices, regulatory changes and geopolitical tensions are reshaping the operating environment for European industry, as well as the importance of robust gas infrastructure and renewable molecules for ensuring security of supply and long-term competitiveness.
BATMASS was represented by Germán López and Marta González (CTA), who attended the meeting to follow discussions on emerging energy trends and explore opportunities for collaboration aligned with the project’s objectives on circularity and innovation in the battery value chain.
