On 13 February 2026, the European BATMASS project will take part in the event “Structuring the Battery Value Chain: Regulation & Circular Economy”, organised by TEAM2 and the S3PI Artois. The event will be held in a hybrid format: in person in Béthune (France) and online, from 8:30 to 12:30 and will be conducted in French.
As the industrial production of lithium-ion batteries has become a strategic priority for Europe’s resilience and sovereignty, this event will address the major technical, logistical, regulatory and environmental challenges facing the sector. Particular attention will be given to the need for a fully circular battery value chain, capable of managing end-of-life batteries and production scrap, while exploring reuse solutions to extend battery lifetime without compromising performance.
Within the framework of the BATMASS project, the event will provide an overview of the current state of development of the battery value chain and highlight the key milestones required to accelerate its growth and ensure full circularity.
A forum to structure and connect the battery ecosystem
The event will focus on:
-
Assessing progress in the European battery value chain within BATMASS.
-
Presenting upcoming regulatory, safety and security challenges related to first- and second-life batteries.
-
Promoting collaboration between industrial players and other key stakeholders.
-
Showcasing pioneering regional and European initiatives for battery production based on secondary raw materials and for end-of-life battery treatment.
Who should attend?
This event is particularly relevant for:
-
Industrial actors across the battery value chain
-
Battery manufacturers, recyclers and reuse specialists
-
Regulatory and safety authorities
-
Research and technology organisations
-
Regional and European innovation stakeholders
